Gender equality is not a womens’ issue, it is a human issue.
From its inception, Suteks has been an advocate for gender equality in the workplace. It was rare to see two women, mother and daughter to start a manufacturing company in 1980’s Turkey. Ms. Nur Ger’s mother Sevim Ger’s involvement and support for all employees in the beginning years of the company paved the way for the compassionate and tolerant atmosphere that exists at Suteks today.
Suteks’ founder Nur Ger experienced first hand the bias inherent in society against women starting their own business at every step. As she defied social norms of her time to accomplish her goals, she also made a promise to herself that she would implement all the necessary tools to empower women at her own company and and provide a gender equal atmosphere for all employees.

Today we have many incentives and equal opportunities for our team members which are beyond those offered by state or otherwise limited by social norms. We provide mental health support, financial assitance for child day care to female workers, private health insurance in addition to state insurance for the whole family, extended paid leave for both moms and dads to be and the ability to work remotely in the first year of birth. Our current CEO Mr. Bekiroglu speaks about these opportunities and non-hierarchical structure of our company in the link below (in Turkish).
